Our Story

Baba-Renenger Farms is the continuation of an agricultural story that began more than a century ago with Lyndsey’s great-grandparents, Miye and Nobuzo Baba. As members of the pioneering Japanese-American farming community of Cortez, they built their lives around agriculture and became prominent almond producers in California beginning in the 1920s. That history remains an important part of who we are today.

At the center of Baba-Renenger Farms is the managing partnership of Lyndsey and Debbie, a daughter and mother whose backgrounds are different, but whose approach to the business is deeply connected. Lyndsey brings generations of agricultural history along with experience in business, corporate operations, policy, and organizational leadership. Debbie brings a strong background in finance and organization, years of hands-on involvement with agriculture and livestock, and the steady, practical leadership that keeps a complex operation moving.

Their partnership grew naturally from family into business. They have learned where their strengths complement one another, when to challenge each other, and how to make decisions with both the immediate needs of the company and its long-term future in mind. While Lyndsey carries forward the agricultural legacy of the Baba family, Debbie has helped shape what that legacy looks like in its next generation.

The Baba-Renenger name represents that story. Baba honors the family and agricultural foundation that came before us. Renenger represents the family that joined that story and helped build what came next. Together, the name reflects a blended family with a shared commitment to agriculture, hard work, responsible growth, and leaving something meaningful for the generations that follow.

Today, Baba-Renenger Farms remains a family-run agricultural operation led by Lyndsey and Debbie and supported by the family around them. We respect the traditions that built this business, but we are not afraid to do things differently when agriculture demands it. We believe in thoughtful innovation, responsible stewardship, strong relationships, and knowing that growth means very little if you lose sight of the people, land, and history that made it possible.
